The DaVinci Vaporizer company, which is actually owned by Organicix out of Las Vegas, is a vape manufacturer that blew us away back in the day when they released the original DaVinci. And then not that many years later, they one-upped themselves when they released the Ascent, which was and really is still today one of the tastiest portables out there thanks to its all glass vapor path in which what components aren't made from 100% glass are at least lined with glass. With these two vapes in mind and the impact they made on us and the rest of the industry/scene when they first arrived, expectations over here at Vaporizer Shark were admittedly high for their latest vape, the IQ. Needless to say, when we got our hands on it, we were nothing short of excited. And after testing it, we've shared a review on our site of it, which is actually the subject of this blog post here on Weebly. So if you want to know a lot more about it, keep reading because we're going to tell you what we know. Intelligent Design
When we first saw this vape, which isn't actually all that new given that it's been on the market for some odd months now, we were immediately intrigued by its appearance alone. Its look is that of something that might have been created by a tech giant like Microsoft and that alone was reason for us to wonder what was under the hood. In this case, what we have is a very intelligently designed vape - something that any vape manufacturer would be proud of and any vaper proud to own. The materials that DaVinci sourced for this project are all top of the line. What you'd expect from a company that's serious about making vaporizers that are as healthy and efficient as possible. In this case, their material selection really shows this as the ceramic zirconia that they used in the vapor path is actually stronger than glass, but offers the same inert property that makes glass an attractive material to use in vaping and smoking devices alike. As a result, the vapor that the IQ pushes out is extremely pure, which, assuming your blend is tasty, results in some really delicious puffs. Superb Vapor As for the vapor quality itself, what the IQ pumps out is quite impressive. For a pocket-sized vape, we're thoroughly impressed. Not quite as good as the Storz & Bickel portables, but also not as big and in the world of portable vaporizers, being compact certainly has its advantages. But don't take this to mean that its vapor isn't excellent - because it is. It's just that when you compare it to what we consider to be the absolute best portable vapor producers on the market, the Storz & Bickel portables, it's not quite there. But in comparison to the rest of the crowd, it basically stomps them out for the most part. There are, in reality, very few portables outside of the two made by Storz & Bickel that can even come close to the IQ in regards to vapor quality, at least as it pertains to dry blend vaporizers which is what the IQ is. Its vapor is pretty smooth, very tasty, extremely pure, and more plentiful than we expected. Its density surpasses that of the Ascent, its predecessor, by quite a bit. Definitely an impressive machine. The Battery This is an area where we really start to take a liking to the IQ. If its awesome vapor wasn't enough, its swappable battery really takes it to the next level and seals the deal. It doesn't last as long as some of the others, but seeing as you can swap it out for a fully charged one whenever you want, who could really complain? It's basically endless vaping. So why would you complain? It uses a pretty standard to vape mods battery, which in turn makes it really easy to find replacement batteries for the IQ because you can literally head on over to your local vape shop and more than likely find as many replacements as you need. Or not even replacements, so to say, but backup batteries. This way, you can keep some charged at all times so that when your battery dies, you can pop a new one in and continue vaping without having to wait around for it to charge. The DaVinci IQ App Have you ever wished that you could put your vape in stealth mode and avoid attracting unnecessary attention? Well, while it's not perfect, the IQ's app does allow you to drop the vape into stealth mode, which turns the brightness of the LEDs down. It might not seem like much but if you've ever covered the light(s) on your vape to avoid detection while vaping, this little feature is a nice addition. And it's not the only feature that the app offers. In fact, there's quite a bit to it. You can use it to toggle the vibrating alerts, adjust the LED brightness, and create vaping temperature sessions that are customized to your liking. The latter being the Smart Path feature that lets you customize your vape sessions by adjusting the temperature as they progress. For instance, you can use this feature to start at low and then end on a high temp, squeezing that last little bit of blend out before you call it quits and pack a fresh one. Probably worth noting here that you really don't need to use the app but if you do- you'll thank yourself for installing it because it really opens up the vaporizer's features. Temperature Information We mentioned a bit about this in the app section of this review of the IQ by DaVinci, however, there's more to the picture than what we conveyed so here's some more information about this vape's temperature settings and such. Where it starts, 250F, you might not see much vapor. But where it ends, 430F, you'll see a lot of vapor. This isn't to say that on the lowest temperature setting that you won't be vaping, only that it's much more visible when you exhale at the higher temperatures. Its high-end temp is, in our opinion, more than enough to handle dry blends. In fact, we've even found it to be high enough to handle concentrates. Not that the IQ is designed for concentrates, but it can vape them and vape them well. Just saying. You can mess around with the smart path settings, programming them to your liking and all that, but if you don't, they're still nice to use. The first one starts at 350F and ends at 370F. The next one starts at 370F and ends at 390F. The third one starts at 390F and ends at 410F. And the last one starts at 410F and ends at 430F. Basically the way these work is you select one and it'll start low then work its way up, once it reaches the max temperature its programmed to, it'll hold it and then the session will end. You can play around with the times and the temperatures via the app. Worth Buying? Definitely. This is an awesome vaporizer for the price and it's an awesome vaporizer for dry blends. Need a portable? The IQ will more than do the trick. Being small, it's easy to transport. Working well, you'll wish you'd bought it sooner. In short, this is one of the best vapes for the money and if we were you, we'd buy it now. There are some portables that work better, but that are this compact? Hardly. What this vape offers is basically a very nice combination of portability and power. It's not the strongest, but it's up there. And it's not the smallest, but it'll definitely fit in your pocket. We love it. We'd buy it again if we had a reason to. Not convinced? Read our complete review on our website. In it, we cover all of what we talked about here in more depth while also offering something we skipped entirely in this quick review: the comparison section in which we compare the IQ to other vapes.
